Decolaedu: Branding experience
My role: Graphic Designer freelancer
For this job, I was hired to develop a logotype and branding of the new company, Decolaedu.
The company: In portuguese, Decola means the act of a plane to take off. And “edu” refers to education, as the company helps students to get discounts and scholarships in private brazilian universities.
The symbol
The symbol is an stylized letter “D” with a click inside. It symbolizes the facility that students have, when looking for undergraduate courses, to start, to take off , as fast and easy as a click.
Typography
The typography needed to be modern and appealing to a younger audience, featuring smooth, rounded forms without harsh edges.
With this in mind, Signika was selected—a sans-serif font with a gentle character.
Colors
Keeping younger audiences in mind, the colors selected were purple and pink.
Purple: Represents creativity, magic, and innovation.
Pink: Conveys joy, friendliness, and approachability.
The logotype
Materials
I created a wide range of digital materials, including banners and social media posts, that captured the company’s youthful spirit.
Designed each material for optimal performance and usability, ensuring every layout was fully responsive.
Some of the social media posts designed to promote the company online.
Corporate video
This corporate video was scripted by the company’s team, and I was responsible for editing and animating the motion graphics.
The video explains how the business operates, highlighting the types of courses offered and, most importantly, how easy it is to apply and enroll—with minimal bureaucracy, which is often a major barrier in Brazil.
The concept uses a ‘click’ as a metaphorical airplane that takes off and flies over the various challenges.
